I’m thrilled to have another post from Aileen O’Reilly who is a journalist often found in the pages of the Irish Examiner. Aileen was diagnosed with diabetes over 30 years ago at age 17 years. In this post she shares some thoughts on the freedom and empowerment of “doing diabetes in the open”.

There was optimistic news from the HSE on their review and consideration of the Freestyle Libre glucose monitors access for adults with type 1 diabetes recently but we are still in a waiting game. This week our post is from a fellow Diabuddy who recently moved to France and wished to share her diabetes story and how since moving to France she has gained access to a Freestyle Libre glucose monitor through the French health care system.
