‘Imperfect Days’

A Diabetes Documentary Screening & Community Conversation, presented by Thriveabetes

Over 50 people from Clare, Galway, Limerick, Dublin, Waterford & Offaly, came to see 🎥 IMPERFECT DAYS, an Irish made diabetes documentary produced by David and Laura Qualter, Prospect Films on Saturday, September 19 at Treacy’s West County Hotel, Ennis, Co Clare.

Imperfect Days brings audiences into the lives of Carmel McDonagh, Tony Marshall and Faye Burke, who share their personal experiences of managing diabetes and participating in clinical trials.

And heard from 💬 film participants during our Community Conversation which included:

  • Carmel, who lives with type 1 diabetes

  • Christine, Consultant Endocrinologist in Galway

  • David, Film Director

  • Faye, a teenager who lives with type 1 diabetes

  • Karen, Faye's parent

  • Matt, Consultant Nephrologist Galway

  • Tony, who lives with type 2 diabetes

The film shines a light on the day-to-day realities of living with diabetes. It also shows how clinical trials and public and patient involvement (PPI) are driving progress in diabetes research and care.

Leading researchers and clinicians from University of Galway, Galway University Hospitals and the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland are at the forefront of clinical trial research and innovation in Ireland. They are seeing first-hand its transformative effects.
